My wife and I have visited Bantatthong Thai several times and have previously enjoyed it, but tonight was extremely disappointing.
We ordered the steamed baby barramundi, which arrived smelling great but was seriously undercooked, almost raw in the centre, light pink, and not separating from the skin. This is not a minor issue; serving undercooked fish can pose a serious food-safety risk.
We politely asked for it to be cooked again, and thankfully the second serving was done correctly, although we had to wait an additional 25 minutes for this dish to be recooked by this stage we had finished all our other meals.

What shocked us was that the restaurant still charged us the full $30 for the original, improperly cooked dish.
For $30, they could have acknowledged their mistake and avoided this review. Instead, they chose to charge us for food we couldn't safely eat.

Very disappointing, particularly from a restaurant we had previously trusted. Customers — especially children! — may not realise when fish is dangerously undercooked. Food safety should come before charging a customer for a dish that was served incorrectly.

Absolutely delicious! The starters were amazing, especially The Kingfish sashimi was so fresh and refreshing, the prawns with the perfectly balanced sauce. The desserts were beautiful and delicious too. Such a great dining experience
